‘Get off twitter, support your local projects’ – Nature, youth and connection in Easton
Why do people need nature? How do we interest young people in the environment? What’s the key to a successful sustainability career?
In a new video series Bristol24/7 Youth Climate Reporter Elle Placide learns more about the people working behind the scenes to make our city greener.
The first video features Manu Maunganidze, founder of NYCE in Easton, a charity helping young people from some of the most deprived areas of the country to get outdoors and into nature.
“We’ve created this lazy assumption that if you’ve got money then you should be interested in the environment,” he says. “Actually, it affects all of us, so we should all be having an effect on it. We should all be involved.”
