New laundry service hits Bristol and Bath

By Laura Collacott  Monday Sep 7, 2015

A new service has launched in Bristol that promises to cut the cost of laundry and dry cleaning costs by linking physical services to smart technology. Prices start from £2 including a free door-to-door collection and delivery service.

Laundrapp started in London, the brainchild of Bristol-born entrepreneur Edward Relf and has doubled in size in the last year. Free to download, the service now operates across more than 25 cities and towns across the UK including London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol and Liverpool.

In 35 weeks, the app has been downloaded more than 100,000 times, cleaning millions of garments and promising to turn your smartphone into “a remote control for people’s laundry”.

“Laundrapp is turning an entire multi billion-pound laundry industry on it’s head and launching within my hometown across the Bristol and Bath region is both a thrilling and exciting challenge”, said Edward Relf, the Bristol born co-founder and CEO who counts popular online game Moshi Monsters among his previous projects. “We set out to completely revolutionise the laundry and dry cleaning industry – launching in my hometown is also massive personal achievement.”
