National charity receives boost from Bristol law firm

By Milan Perera  Wednesday Apr 29, 2026

The national charity Child Brain Injury Trust has received a boost following a specialist conference hosted in Bristol.

Bristol-based law firm Enable Law, which specialises in personal injury and trauma-related cases, hosted the event.

More than 50 professionals from across England attended, aiming to improve collaboration and understanding in supporting children with acquired brain injuries and their families.

The conference raised almost £2,000 for the charity while also increasing awareness of its work.

The Child Brain Injury Trust, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to supporting children with acquired brain injuries, has been operating for around 30 years.

It has been described as a “trusted voice providing comprehensive resources and advocacy for families navigating paediatric brain injury recovery”.

Experts from legal, healthcare and rehabilitation fields explored how a joined-up approach — including education, care planning and early intervention — can improve outcomes and ease pressure on families.

Sharon Machin, community inclusion and virtual support service manager, said: “Events like this play such an important role in strengthening understanding around childhood acquired brain injury and the support families need.

“At the Child Brain Injury Trust, we see every day how vital it is for professionals to come together, share expertise, and take a joined-up approach to recovery.

“From education rights to care and benefits, we’re here to ensure no family faces the legal system alone.”

Enable Law said the event underlined the importance of collaboration in delivering better support and outcomes for young people affected by brain injuries.

The event was hosted by Enable Law legal director and personal injury specialist Tim Jones, who deemed the conference a success.

Jones said: “We are proud that Enable Law is the Child Brain Injury Trust’s Legal Support Service Provider for the South West, and this conference will strengthen our relationship with a charity which performs an invaluable role for young people living with acquired brain injuries.

“A thought-provoking event, it underlines the commitment of our specialist lawyers to fight the corner of families affected by childhood brain injury. By coming together and sharing knowledge, everyone who attended is now better placed to provide the highest level of care and service.”
