First look at proposed new secondary school in south Bristol

By Charlie Watts  Tuesday Aug 24, 2021

Images have been released of what a new secondary school in south Bristol could look like.

The new Oasis Academy in Knowle West was announced in 2019, but its opening has been delayed to September 2024, which has been criticised by the local MP Karin Smyth.

The new school will cater for 900 pupils, and Wates Construction has been appointed by the Department of Education to build it.

The Park Community Centre‘s existing building on Daventry Road will be demolished to make way for the new academy, with construction due to start in March 2022.

A new building is also currently being built for The Park, which will be next to the new school and should be completed by the end of 2021.
