Ethical banking group wins ‘Global Good Finance Player’ of the year
An ethical banking group, headquartered in Bristol, has won gold in the “Finance Trailblazer of the Year” category at the Global Good Finance Awards 2025.
Triodos Bank UK, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, received the award for its “dedication to positive impact through financing social and environmental change over three decades”.
The Global Good Finance Awards recognise businesses, NGOs, charities and social enterprises that lead in sustainability and ethical leadership.
The “Finance Trailblazer of the Year” title is given to companies that play an important role in bringing ambitious sustainable initiatives, projects and enterprises to life.

Over the years, Triodos has delivered £2.5bn worth of impactful funding across sectors including renewable energy, social housing, ethical businesses, nature-based investment and regenerative agriculture.
Beneficiaries of Triodos’s ethical funding include leading names in sustainability such as Ecotricity, Riverford, Neal’s Yard, Cafédirect and Better Food.
The judges said: “Your leadership in demonstrating that financial performance and positive impact can go hand in hand, including through your communications campaigns, is to be commended.”

Based on Deanery Road, Triodos Bank UK serves around 100,000 customers.
The bank has strict investment thresholds, ruling out financing for businesses involved in fossil fuels, fast fashion, deforestation and the arms trade.
