Bristol-headquartered national law firm marks bumper year with record revenue
A Bristol-headquartered law firm has marked a bumper year of trading with record revenue, reflecting a significant leap from the previous four years.
TLT, named by the Financial Times as “one of the most innovative law firms in Europe,” has revealed its financial results for 2024/2025, with revenue rising to £187m, adding over £75m in the last four years.
The firm said the growth reflects its “long-term strategy of investing in people, technology and a progressive workplace culture”.

Over the past year, the firm has welcomed 12 new partners, grown its team to more than 1,800 staff and was ranked the second most active recruiter among the UK’s top 50 law firms.
A major milestone was the creation of one of the UK’s largest future energy and infrastructure legal practices, now comprising over 150 specialists.
TLT also expanded its physical presence both in the north of England and north of the border by relocating to Eden in Manchester—one of the UK’s most sustainable office buildings—and doubling its footprint in Edinburgh.
Further building on its innovation credentials, the firm launched Legora, a collaborative AI platform developed by its FutureLaw team, to streamline legal processes.
TLT has set bold ambitions in diversity, wellbeing and sustainability, including a target of 50 per cent female partners by 2029. It maintained its position as a Top 50 Employer for Gender Equality by The Times and improved its ranking in the Social Mobility Employer Index.
The firm has cemented its expertise in the clean energy sector, advising on 40 renewable energy projects and ranking among the top ten globally for clean energy mergers and acquisitions.
It also supported the UK Government on the UK–India free trade deal, secured places on major legal panels including BT Group and the Home Office and handled high-profile litigation such as a phone hacking claim.

Managing partner John Wood credited the firm’s success to the “dedication of its people and the trust of its clients”.
He said: “Reaching £187m in revenue reflects the extraordinary commitment, talent and ambition of our people and the trust our clients place in us every day.
“We continue to grow and make significant investments to deliver a long-term growth strategy, whilst also staying true to our values, whether that’s leading the way in future energy, driving innovation through technology or playing a central part in building a more inclusive and sustainable legal sector.
“As we look ahead, we remain focused on creating meaningful growth opportunities for our clients whilst delivering a progressive workplace with a market-leading culture underpinned by sustainability.”
