Bristol headquartered bank named ‘Best Ethical Financial Provider’
An ethical banking group with its UK headquarters in Bristol has scooped a major industry accolade.
Triodos Bank, based on Deanery Road near College Green, has been named ‘Best Ethical Financial Provider’ for the fourth consecutive year at this year’s British Bank Awards, which celebrate excellence across the UK banking sector.
High street banks, fintechs and finance providers were judged on merit, with year’s awards based on almost 178,000 reviews and feedback gathered via the consumer finance platform Smart Money People.
Triodos Bank achieved an impressive overall rating of 4.93 out of 5, crunched from nearly 8,000 customer reviews.

Triodos Bank, which serves close to 100,000 customers, channels customer deposits into sustainable and socially beneficial projects. It adheres to some of the strictest minimum standards in the sector, and does not finance fossil fuels, fast fashion, deforestation or weapons.
Now marking 30 years in the UK banking sector, Triodos has earned numerous accolades for its sustainability practices, including a King’s Award for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category, invested by King Charles III, and being named Global Good Finance Player of the Year in 2024.

A certified B Corp firm, Triodos is also recognised for having one of the lowest emissions intensities (emissions per pound of financing) among UK banks. It has committed to science-based climate targets, including reducing emissions across its loans and investments.
