Brick supplier with restoration expertise joins forces with Welsh counterpart
A Bristol-based building materials supplier, with a three-decade legacy, has joined forces with a Welsh firm to strengthen services across Bristol and the wider South West.
Matching Brick, which operates two sites in Bristol, has combined its operations with Brickability South Wales to streamline customer services.
The move brings together six depots across Wales and the South West, providing access to a wider product range for construction projects of all descriptions.
Both businesses are part of the national Brickability Group and are set to benefit from the umbrella group’s extensive network, while keeping supply lines firmly rooted in the region.

From large-scale developments to smaller domestic projects, the collaboration aims to cut delays and provide a more seamless service to contractors and householders alike.
Mark Goode, regional director of Brickability South Wales, said: “We’ve always supported each other as businesses, but this new venture brings us even closer. It means we can serve a wider range of customers and support larger construction projects and developments across the region.”

Matching Brick, founded in 1991 by Dick Smith, albeit under its original name, the Bristol Brickyard Company, has built up a reputation for supplying and matching bricks for both new builds and restoration projects across the region and beyond.
Among its recent projects include the restoration of the 19th-century Brooks Dye Works in St Werburghs, a landmark site where the company’s expertise in matching historic brickwork played a vital role in preserving the structure.
