Richard Fleischer‘s adaptation of Harry Harrison’s satirical and distinctly plausible novel Make Room! Make Room!, which is set in the over-crowded New York of 2022. Charlton Heston plays a cop who’s alarmed to discover the truth about the synthetic foodstuff, known as Soylent Green, which is keeping the teeming, hungry population fed.
