The ‘DC Extended Universe’ series has had more than its fair share of superduds (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Justice League), so no doubt Warners are hoping that this seventh one will receive Wonder Woman levels of approval.
Their latest superperson is a fostered teenage boy who can transform himself into an adult superhero by, ahem, playing with his magic wand and uttering the titular invocation of an ancient wizard. Zachary Levi plays the adult Shazam, while Mark Strong assumes bad guy duties as dastardly industrialist Doctor Thaddeus Bodog Sivana.
