Bristol Film Festival: Jason and the Argonauts

Director
Don Chaffey
Certificate
U
Running Time
104 mins

There’s a reason why nobody ever remembers the name of this one’s director or stars, and that’s because it would have been consigned to the dustbin of film history without Ray Harryhausen’s brilliant stop-motion animation, which includes the hydra, a bronze titan and – best of all – that wonderful skeleton army, without whom we’d never have had the best bits of Pirates of the Caribbean.

This Bristol Film Festival screening is part of the fest’s ever-popular Underground Cinema strand of films shown in Redcliffe Caves. Go here for tickets and further information.
