Eliezer and Uriel Shkolnik are both eccentric professors in the Talmudic Studies department of Hebrew University, Jerusalem. The father, Eliezer, is a stubborn purist who fears the establishment and has never been recognised for his work. Meanwhile his son, Uriel, is an up-and-coming star in the field, who appears to feed on accolades, endlessly seeking recognition. The Israel Prize, the most valuable honour for scholarship in the country, provides the catalyst for a bitter, darkly funny confrontation.
This first local screening of Joseph Cedar‘s Oscar nominted 2011 comedy-drama is presented by DAVAR Film.
