Haley Lu Richardson plays a 17-year-old girl who falls for a fellow hospital patient with cyctic fibrosis (Cole Sprouse), the twist here being that their condition means that they cannot get closer than – you guessed it! – five feet apart.
If you’re familar with what’s been dubbed the ‘sick lit’ teen weepie genre (The Fault in Our Stars, Everything Everything, Now Is Good, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, etc., etc) you may or may not be overjoyed to learn that all of its cliches are present and correct in this latest triple-hanky blubathon, which is pitched firmly at 15-year-old girls.
