French-born Spanish director Oliver Laxe’s third film follows brooding arsonist Amador Coro (Amador Arias), who returns to live with his elderly mother on the family farm in Galicia after serving two years for setting fire to a half a mountain.
Not everyone is overjoyed to see him again. As the title suggests, another conflagration ensues in this timely drama that places the Galician landscape very much in the foreground. It’s back on screen in the Watershed’s Films That Love the Cinema season, celebrating the ‘shed’s welcome post-lockdown return to action.
