Now celebrating its 50th anniversary, George Roy Hill‘s comedy western was one of the biggest hits in the genre’s history, reviving Paul Newman‘s career and making Robert Redford a bona fide star. It’s dated a bit (that Oscar-winning Burt Bacharach score is pretty feeble, unless you’re some kind of retro-hipster), but remains charming and enjoyable.
This Bristol Film Festival screening takes place in Averys’ historic wine cellar with complementary South American wines. Go here for tickets and further information.
