A Dublin-set arthouse counterpart to those raucous Hollywood female bonding comedies, Emma Jane Unsworth‘s adaptation of her novel of the same title is directed by Australian Sophie Hyde, who’s best known for her 2014 gender transitioning drama 52 Tuesdays.

Holliday Grainger and Alia Shawkat star as Laura and Tyler – a pair of hard-partyin’ BFFs who enjoy plenty of drink, drugs and casual sex. But as they reach their thirties, the debauchery hits the buffers and the nature of their friendship starts to change, catalysed by Laura’s former wild child younger sister embracing domesticity and the arrival of a – horror! – teetotal love interest.
