E.M. Forster‘s eloquent tale of tortured Edwardian romance is transferred to the screen by the Merchant-Ivory team. Helena Bonham-Carter stars as Lucy Honeychurch, who’s torn between two suitors in this lively, handsome and often very funny 1986 production. There’s sterling support from all the usual gang: Maggie Smith, Denholm Elliot, Judi Dench, Daniel Day-Lewis and Simon Callow.
This Bristol Film Festival screening in Averys wine cellar will be accompanied by a selection of Tuscan wines. The first screening in March has sold out, so a second one has been added in May. Go here for tickets and further information
