Largely forgotten today, 1980s DIY act Cleaners from Venus was esstentially one bloke – Martin Newell. A pioneer of cassette culture who played the then-mandatory ‘jangly indie’, he remains best known for The Greatest Living Englishman, produced by XTC’s Andy Partridge.
The Cube’s screening of Graham Bendel‘s loving doucmentary will be follwoed by a DJ set from Squid.
