Delusional directors? They gottem. The Bristol Bad Film Club presents a delicious documentary double-bill exploring the work of directors whose ambition far exceeds their talent.

Kung Fu Elliot follows two years in the life of Elliot ‘White Lighting’ Scott who aims to become Canada’s first action star – or, at the very least, the new Chuck Norris – with his third amateurish martial arts feature, Bloodfight, which he expects to be his breakthrough. Some critics have voiced the suspicion that the whole film is a hoax, espeically when Elliot’s story take a dramatic twist, but it’s a hugely entertaining one nonetheless.

Next up is The Insufferable Groo, which follows another eccentric who’s big on dreams and low on talent. With 205 films under his belt, DIY filmmaker Stephen Groo decides to go for broke with The Unexpected Race – the story of an unlikely romance between a human and an elf. Not only that, but he’s determined to persuade Jack Black to take a role in the film.
