The winner of the Grand Jury Prize at SXSW, Jim Cummings‘ Kickstarter-funded, low-budget, self-distributed expansion of his own short film has become something of a sensation, earning back its budget in just one week.
Inspired by the Springsteen song of the same title, it’s a finely calibrated tragicomedy following a Texan cop (played by Cummings himself) who loses his mother, custody of his daughter and his job in short order.
The director will be present for a Q&A after the Watershed’s preview screening.
