The title makes it sound like one of those vile fey indie teen romances in which a nerdy kid with the voice of a thirtysomething screenwriter cops off with a terminally ill Manic Pixie Dream Girl to the strains of much whiney crooning on the soundtrack. But this is actually a British scrabble comedy-drama. No, really.
Written by veteran Frank Cottrell-Boyce and directed by first-timer Carl Hunter, it casts an on-form Bill Nighy as a retired Scouse tailor and scrabble obsessive engaged in a desperate search for his estranged son.
