William Wyler‘s third film with Audrey Hepburn is a jolly if a tad dated swinging sixties romantic comedy heist caper set in the Parisian art world. She plays an art forger’s daughter who hires cat burglar Peter O’Toole to pilfer her father’s reproduction of a Cellini sculpture. This has somehow wound up in a museum, exposing him to the risk of discovery.
It makes a welcome return to the big screen in celebration of John Williams’ suitably comedic score in the Watershed’s The Early Scores of John Williams Sunday brunch season, which is in turn part of Filmic 19.
