Chilean director Pablo Larrain, of No and The Club fame, makes his English-language debut with this intimate portrait of Jackie Kennedy in the aftermath of her hubby’s assassination.

He deftly dodges biopic conventions with a complex mosaic character study that has Natalie Portman on top form as the devastated yet defiant widow determined to take control of her legacy and that of JFK.
