Statue of Marvin Rees could be erected outside City Hall
With only a few weeks to go before his term of office comes to an end, plans are underway to commemorate the historic mayoralty of Marvin Rees with a new statue outside City Hall.
The statue of Rees is likely to stand directly outside the main entrance to the building formerly known as the Council House.
There is currently a stone sculpture of an Elizabethan seaman here but this is set to be moved elsewhere to make way for a striking sculpture of the lad from Easton who now bestrides the world stage.

Bristol24/7 understands that work has already been taking place on the sculpture away from prying eyes in the basement of City Hall.
An as-yet unannounced artist has been shadowing the mayor over recent months as he journeyed across the world in an attempt to find him at his most statesmanlike.
Rees is thought to have taken a keen interest in the artwork, which will have the same title as his recently renamed autobiography, Let’s See What Happens: The Last Mayor of Bristol.
