Residents left sleepless after ‘awfully loud thumping’ from illegal rave
Residents in east Bristol were awoken to loud thumping noises from a nearby illegal rave in the early hours of Sunday morning.
At 3.12am on Sunday, an anonymous participant of a Facebook group complained about the “awfully loud R&B thumping bass”.
Soon, residents from Crew Holes Road, Marsh Lane, Barton Hill, Church Road and other surrounding areas commented with similar concerns, with many saying they were unable to sleep.

Complaining about the partygoers’ lack of variety in music, one anonymous participant from Barton Hill said: “It’s been going all night somewhere. It’s the same constant beat, wish they would change the disc.”
Others continued to express their disappointment.
A resident from St George said: “It’s been driving me crazy! I’ve been awake since 2ish and now have a thumping headache!
“Finally went to sleep only to wake up to it! I’m in St George, so if it’s St Phillip’s way – it’s fucking loud!”
When officers from Avon and Somerset Police arrived at the scene around 7am, there were nearly 50 people, with reports of more people arriving.
A spokesperson from Avon and Somerset Police said: “We received a noise complaint in relation to a report of an unlicensed music event near Feeder Road at around 7am on Sunday.
“We attended and found around 50 people at the scene, with more arriving, and organisers turned the music off and packed up their equipment at the request of officers.
“Organisers indicated they were leaving the site, and we conducted follow-up passing patrols, at around 10am.”
