Record-breaking Bristol Balloon Fiesta
For the first time ever, all seven mass ascents have taken place at this year’s Bristol International Balloon Fiesta.
The final lift-off took place in the Sunday evening drizzle with the wind taking the balloons east close to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, many disappearing into the clouds.

The event was so popular on Saturday that gates had to be closed in the evening to not allow any more people into Ashton Court, which had reached its capacity.
But despite the long queues in the car parks, the majority of spirits – and balloons – remained high:
