While it has yet to be officially confirmed, Bristol24/7 understands that solar panels on the building’s roof are likely to have caused the blaze.
Temple Back remained shut to traffic for much of Monday afternoon with a police cordon in place on both sides of the road.
Soon before 4pm, an Avon Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On 1 September at 13:38, firefighters from Temple, Bedminster, Southmead, Kingswood and Hicks Gate Fire Stations were called to a fire at a building in Temple Back, Redcliffe, Bristol.
“Firefighters have the fire under control and are using water jets, fire extinguishers and the turntable ladder.
“Four firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus. Crews are currently dampening down the area and checking for hotspots. Firefighters are also working with the Police, who are assisting with traffic management in the area.
“Thankfully, there are no casualties.”
