Crips Against Cuts hold ’emergency protest’

By Martin Booth  Thursday Jul 10, 2025

Crips Against Cuts protesters covered themselves in fake blood as they held a rally against “brutal” welfare cuts.

The ’emergency protest’ on College Green in front of City Hall came on the day that the government’s watered-down Universal Credits Bill cleared the House of Commons.

One protester had ‘killing us to buy bombs’ written on their body, while a banner said ‘don’t blame us, tax the rich’

“Even with concessions, this bill will still kill and wreck lives,” Crips Against Cuts wrote on Instagram.

“We will not stand for future disabled people being sacrificed. We are not numbers. Cuts kill.”
