Caravan reduced to ashes after arson attack
A caravan was set ablaze in an arson attack on the Downs on Saturday night.
Fire crews from Southmead, Hicks Gate and Temple Back attended the incident on Parry’s Lane.
A spokesperson from Avon Fire and Rescue said the cause of the fire had currently been recorded as “deliberate ignition” .

Many passing the area around 11pm noticed flames rising from the fully ablaze caravan.
The source of the fire is yet unknown.
Sharing a video from the scene, Protect the Downs said: “What could possibly go wrong?
“Nose to tail caravans, tinder dry ground and trees, gas canisters just yards away, lots of houses opposite, caravan and van dwellers potentially asleep, possibly under the influence of drugs and unable to escape.
“We sincerely hope no one is injured or worse.
“This has to stop NOW! We have been asking the authorities for YEARS to address safety issues!”
In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said:
“At 11.10pm on Saturday we received a report of a caravan alight on Parry’s Lane, Bristol from the fire service.
“The fire was extinguished and its cause was deemed to be deliberate.
“An investigation is underway and anyone with information is asked to call 101 using reference number 5225232016.”
