In pictures: Cadbury’s sign is taken down
The Somerdale Factory, well-known across the country and workplace for some 500 people, closed its doors for the very last time in March 2011. Since then, it has been the subject of a series of redevelopment plans after the site was bought by house-building company Taylor Wimpey.
On Friday, the redevelopment saw the classic Cadbury’s sign taken down as the former factory prepares to undergo works to become a care home, under the ownership of St Monica Trust.
The process was documented in a series of pictures which were posted to the St Monica twitter feed.
