Bristol Charity Advent Calendar – day four
Nacoa (The National Association for Children of Alcoholics) is a charity that helps the children of alcohol-dependent parents.
In the past 25 years the charity has provided guidance, information, and most of all a listening ear to more than 30,000 children.
The charity’s figures show that one in five children live with a parent who drinks too much and young people will often hide these problems instead of speaking out.
is needed now More than ever
Nacoa helps these children to reach professionals so that they can see a brighter future, as well as promoting new research around the issue.
Since 2008, Upfest has taken to the streets to raise awareness of the charity and recruit new volunteers for the charity’s Bristol helpline.
– To volunteer, visit www.nacoa.org.uk/get-involved/volunteering and download their volunteer form. For more information, contact 0117 924 8005
– For other fundraising ideas, visit the ‘Get Involved’ section of Nacoa’s website
Every day during Advent, Bristol24/7 will be focussing on a Bristol charity that you can support. If you want to see a charity featured, please email [email protected]
