40 best photos from the Bristol Instameet

To meet others who have a passion for quick-share photography, online communities of Instagramers have formed all over the world, sharing their work and ideas and attending ‘Instameets’ where they can get to know the people behind the cameras – or indeed, iPhones.

On Saturday, Bristol’s very own Instagram community @IGersBristol met up at the city’s fifth Instameet, organised by Bristol24/7 Instagram Showcase regular Jess Siggers and local photographer Jon Jerrome in collaboration with the University of Bristol.

24 hours and counting! Final preparations for tomorrow’s Instameet with @universityofbristol are taking place and the anticipation is building. Among the many exciting things to look forward to are these cool new badges which we’ve had made up for each and everyone who’s registered to attend. The meet-up saw 100 gram-enthusiasts gathering at three different university sites for a day of clicking and flashing, including a tour of the Wills Tower and a unique chance to snap the city from above with a breathtaking 360-degree view. Although the day was all about socialising and sharing a passion, the IGers knew there was work to be done, with hundreds of pictures bearing the group’s hashtag appearing on Instagram throughout the day.
