Bristol’s first nail bar and cafe to close
What was once known as Bristol’s first nail bar and cafe will soon be closing permanently.
Even though the House of Gossip’s cafe concept was shelved in June, the business continued running as a normal salon from its premises in Bedminster.
However, owner Emily Fisher has said that changing life scenarios have pushed her to take the “incredibly” tough decision to cease operations in Bristol at the end of January 2026.

Originally known as The Gossip Nail Bar, Emily opened her first Bristol salon in Old Market in 2017.
In April 2024, she moved to Bedminster and rebranded the business to House of Gossip, which became Bristol’s first nail bar and cafe.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Emily wrote: “After nearly 10 years of building, nurturing, and growing Gossip, I’ve made the incredibly tough decision to close the salon in Bedminster at the end of January 2026.
“This business has been such a huge part of my life; it’s shaped me in more ways than I can count.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible teams over the years and I’m so proud of everything we created together.
“But life has shifted, and so have I. What I need now is slower days, more flexibility, and more time to focus on my little home ed life in the country and being able to work from home.”
Emily will be continuing her nail art from her studio in Winscombe, which she said will be a “smaller setup, but one that aligns with this next season of life”.
She added: “The space, fixtures, fittings and lease are now up for sale, please feel free to DM me if you’re interested in taking on the space.
“We’ll also be sharing more soon about where some of the current team will be moving on to.
“Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this era with me, whether you’ve been a client, collaborator, or supporter from afar. This isn’t goodbye, just a transition into something a little softer, a little slower, and a lot more intentional.”
