5 places to bounce in Bristol this summer

By Rose Clark  Tuesday Aug 16, 2016

Bristol is spoilt with venues dedicated to the simple joy of jumping. These colosseums of trampolines take bouncing to a new extreme, with hopping good fun for both adults and children.

1. Freedog, Totterdown

This trampoline park is all about “freedom of expression,” which translates roughly to “just go nuts.” You can feel superhuman as you participate in parkour and freerunning, slam dunk like Michael Jordan or play some good old-fashioned dodgeball on one of the park’s trampoline courts. Even the wee ones can get in on the action at the weekday Toddler Bounce sessions. Not that you need to participate in an organized activity – feel free to hurtle around the main court’s 83 trampolines and frolic in the foam pit doing whatever you please.

2. Axis Trampolining Club, Bedminster Down

Though not a wall-to-wall trampoline park, Axis Trampoline Club has plenty of activities for both kids and adults looking to obtain real trampolining skills. The club offers plenty of courses, from beginner’s trampolining to specialized freestyle gymnastics and tumbling classes. Axis even has its own exclusive Trampolining Squad, an invitation-only group for young people seeking to do gymnastics competitively. Not that trampolining is exclusive– Axis hosts pre-school sessions for toddlers and disability classes for anyone with special physical, sensory or learning needs.

3. Flip Out, Longwell Green

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Originally from Australia, this all-ages venue has gigantic trampolines, stunt box zones and ball games. It’s all about the parties –  packages include not only an hour of “flip” time but a room stocked with pizza, soft drinks, socks and more. That’s for both adult and children. Kids under 5 can participate in a mini flippers jump and adults can burn up to 1000 calories in a fitness class. To top it all off, there’s an after dark event, where teenagers can jump along to the resident DJ accompanied by a light show and smoke machine.

4. AirHop, Patchway

Bristol’s AirHop is officially the largest trampoline park on planet earth, with 135 connected trampolines lining the floor and walls. It’s become a go-to venue for children’s birthday parties, hen and stag do’s and even corporate team building events. This spot also has dodgeball, a foam pit and slam dunk activities, with the creative additions of a Total Wipeout Zone, inspired by the obstacle course TV show and foam-stick gladiator battles in AirHop’s Battlebeam arena.

5. Kingswood Gymnastics & Trampoline Club, Kingswood

This one’s for the kids. Whether they want to compete or just take a class in trampolining, they can take advantage of the club’s two trampolines and competition beds. It’s all about progress here, starting with more basic skills and working up to advanced levels. Children with disabilities can reach competitive levels in special classes. Working along the British Gymnastics award scheme, there’s the opportunity to compete in the Kingswood Gymnastics trampoline squad.
