Popular city centre restaurant and bar unexpectedly closes
The biggest restaurant in the Harbourside has unexpectedly closed its doors.
Notices in the windows of The Cuban on Millennium Parade informs that its owners have forfeited their lease.
The Cuban owners now have until July 9 to remove any items still inside otherwise they will be removed and sold at auction to recover costs, according to the notices from Able Investigations & Enforcement Solutions.

The closure of The Cuban comes just a few months after an all-day hearing at City Hall heard that there has been repeated breaches of licensing conditions and a “continuing theme of bad management”.
Police had asked councillors to revoke The Cuban’s licence – effectively closing it – amid complaints they were operating as a bar: staying open late, keeping residents up into the early hours and allowing glass outside.
It is just over a year since the neighbouring Triathlon Shop also closed, in a building that remains empty; but in better news for the Harbourside, a new My Burrito has recently opened on Cathedral Walk.
