Greedy Pig Theatre present Rhys Myhill’s play platforming trans voices
Formed in 2018 by Lex Kaby and Douglas Murdoch, Bath-based Greedy Pig Theatre (Be; The Stolen Winter Light) have a clear twin mission: firstly, to make “joyous and empowering shows that highlight discussions surrounding gender and sexuality”, and secondly to “experiment with form and new-writing to make a positive impact through theatre”.
They are now preparing for a series of south west tour dates of their new production My Dad: The Woman, The Myth, The Legend.
The show, which comes to The Alma Tavern & Theatre on July 30 for two nights, was written by Rhys Myhill, who also appears as Jamie. It is rooted in Myhill’s own experience of having a father who has transitioned.

The narrative follows Jamie, a young man who is anxiously facing impending fatherhood. He must first tell his dad, a trans woman described as an unruly figure – with very different ideas about parenting to her son.
Replete with humour and vulnerability, Murdoch describes the play as “a riotous and honest dive into unconventional family life”.
The play also features Carys Daniels as Mia, and Mollie Biddlecombe as Kezia.
