As the lights dimmed at the Bristol Beacon and the first notes reverberated through the venue, the audience was immediately transcended into a world where immersion knows no bounds.

The show, a visual and auditory exploration of his latest album On Being (alongside some of his back catalogue and reworks), was a masterclass in storytelling through technology.

Cooper’s use of projections, lights and lasers transcended the confines of a screen, enveloping the audience in dynamic, three-dimensional kaleidoscopes of imagery.

Each sonic twist and turn was complemented effortlessly with vividity; the imagery at times abstract and at others representational, with each sequence inviting the audience to ponder the intricate dance between chaos and order, nature and technology.

Blending masterfully between everything from ambient and IDM to techno and drum & bass, Cooper crafted a sonic journey that was as diverse as it was cohesive, each transition mirroring the fluidity of the visuals with precision.

Carefully-crafted orchestrations of tension and release formed moments of profound emotional impact. Lasers would blare, projections shine and music swell before Cooper would deftly shift the energy into a calmer more meditative state, giving the crowd a moment to breathe.

As the final notes faded and the lights of Beacon sprung back into action, the Bristol crowd was left in awe of Cooper’s artistry.

Cooper’s performance was as sonically captivating as it was intellectually stimulating.

A true exploration into the intersections of art and science, the show is the embodiment of his relentless pursuit of innovation, creating a truly visceral experience that transcended the boundaries of traditional performance.
