Heather Small of M People to headline Pride
Lead singer of M People Heather Small will headline this year’s Pride festival.
The singer is among 40 artists set to appear at the festival in Castle Park on July 11.
Among the other acts are Tina Cousins, Kym Mazelle, Amelia Lily, Ryan Dolan, La Voix, Nicki French, Justin Utley, new girl band Salute and a secret afternoon headliner who organisers say were one of the biggest UK pop groups in the 80s.
Organisers and festival-goers will hope Small sings the aptly-titled Proud.
The festival is part of Pride Day in Bristol which is the culmination of a week of Pride events starting on July 3.
Daryn Carter, the festival’s organiser who is also in charge of Bristol Pride week, said: “Pride is a vital and fantastic event for the city, we’re one of the biggest Prides in the UK and I am proud of all the events and artists we’ll be bringing to Bristol this year.
The festival will also include local food stalls, on-site bars and a family area.
