Goldie to play Timeless with full orchestra
The all-time classic album Timeless by Goldie will be performed in the Lloyds amphitheatre in July alongside a full orchestra in what is set to be one of Bristol’s gigs of the year.
Timeless has been called “the Sgt. Pepper of drum and bass”. Performed with the Heritage Orchestra, it has been expanded and reworked for a full orchestra, band, choir, electronics and guest vocalists.
Bristol Music Trust, the organisation behind the Colston Hall, are bringing the one-off event to the city.
Colston Hall head of programme Todd Wills said: “This is a great opportunity to hear an orchestra do something entirely different to what you’d expect. Heritage is known for working with artists from outside classical music to create stunning new works, and Goldie’s landmark album provides the perfect inspiration.
“We wanted to put this on so that people from Bristol can come and experience something really extraordinary that normally wouldn’t be seen outside the capital or a festival.”
Goldie and The Heritage Orchestra perform Timeless (Sine Tempore) at the Lloyds Amphitheatre on July 25. Limited earlybird £17.50 inc booking fee and full price £24.25 inc booking fee. Tickets can be purchased from www.colstonhall.org/goldie-and-the-heritage-orchestra. Limited earlybird tickets will go on sale on Friday, March 6 and are limited to four per person.
