The influential East Coast alt-rockers get their own documentary
This week you can see anything you want so long as it’s the new Bond movie. That’s literally true in the case of some cinemas. The Everyman, for example, is showing No Time To Die on every screen on Friday and Saturday. Elsewhere, you can find a few screenings of Shang-Chi, Free Guy and a handful of other flicks too. But mostly it’s about Bond’s mission to save cinema this week.
Should you be able to resist the tidal wave of Bond hype, The Watershed’s run of films from this year’s London Film Festival kicks off on Wednesday with African-American western The Harder They Fall and continues on Thursday with the much-acclaimed Spencer, starring Kristen Stewart as Princess Di. The ‘shed also has a few screenings of the Dinosaur Jr doc Freakscene. But the only new film that’s brave enough to go up against Bond in the mutiplexes is a Czech puppet animation about a deceased rodent: Even Mice Belong in Heaven.
