It’s a fourth week at the top for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which is now up to £21m and ranks as the eighth-highest-grossing release of the year. But the Tim Burton flick faces some serious competition from Friday with the release of the much-hyped Joker: Folie à Deux. Nora Fingscheidt’s The Outrun, starring Saoirse Ronan, was the highest new entry, just ahead of Indian action flick Devara Part 1. Not unexpectedly, however, Francis Ford Coppola’s grand folly Megalopolis opened in lowly seventh place on the back of some atrocious reviews. Meanwhile, Speak No Evil and body horror The Substance both held up well in the top five. Towards the foot of the chart, the 20th anniversary reissue of Edgar Wright’s Shaun of the Dead (can it really be two decades?) added another £314,482 to its tally.
