Those Downton toffs are certainly keeping the oiks entertained in the cheap seats. Maggie Smith and snooty chums comfortably held off the challenge from Ad Astra and Rambo: Last Blood to retain the top slot. And with £13m in the kitty after just two weeks, the Downton Abbey movie is on course not only to challenge costume drama records but also surpass summer blockbusters such as Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw. Sly Stallone’s appeal as Rambo appears to be waning, as the old boy is struggling to keep up with his previous outbursts of lunkheadery. Elsewhere, Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood finally crawled past the £20m mark, becoming only the seventh 18-rated film to do so in UK box office history. Now, what’s the one that everybody neglected to go and see? You’ve forgotten it already, haven’t you? The answer is lady mobster crime drama The Kitchen, which took a woeful £107,000 nationwide.
