After several weeks of little change in the chart, three new releases powered their way into the top five. Seemingly undeterred by poor reviews or franchise fatigue, the Predator audience turned out in force for, um, The Predator, which was the clear winner with £2.4m in the kitty. That figure, however, includes preview screenings. The small print reveals that The Nun actually took more loot over the weekend. Crazy Rich Asians isn’t doing quite as well as it has in the US, but just about managed to squeeze wheezy geezer heist flick King of Thieves into fourth place. The big flop was the remake of blaxploitation flick Superfly that nobody asked for, which took just £15,000 nationwide. Next week’s biggie is likely to be The House With a Clock in its Walls, which has already notched up 1.1m in weekend previews.
