Chart copyright Comscore

Joker: Folie à Deux larfed its way to the top of the chart, as expected. But the DC Comics sequel is proving much less popular than the first film, suggesting that Batmanworld may be running out of steam. In fact, that £5.7m opening is more than 50% down on the opening haul of Joker back in 2019. Of the films on general release, body horror The Substance is holding up most strongly, climbing up to fourth place in the chart. Meanwhile, Francis Ford Coppola’s widely panned Megalopolis has disappeared after just one miserable week in the top ten.
