The weekend’s highest charting new release was a 20th anniversary reissue of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which made sixth place. In the absence of any major new contenders, the blockbusters on general release were left to fight among themselves. The winner was IF, which bounced back from third place to top the chart again, not because of a sudden spurt in takings but because it is declining less quickly than its rivals. Last week’s chart topper The Garfield Movie fell to second place, while Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga slipped behind Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Australian spider horror Sting opened just behind anime sequel Haikyu!!: The Dumpster Battle, while outside the top ten Disney’s true-life historical swimming drama Young Woman and the Sea failed to drum up much interest.
