Bored with Marvel superhero movies? They ain’t going away any time soon if Logan‘s opening weekend is anything to go by. The 10th X-Men movie clawed its way effortlessly to the top with a haul just short of £10m. That’s the second best opening of any Marvel flick, just behind Deadpool. In a smart piece of counter-porgramming, Gurinda Chada’s Viceroy’s House succeeding snaring the more mature cinema-going audience who’ve already seen all the Oscar contenders. Speaking of which, Moonlight enjoyed an impressive post-ceremony boost, breaking into the top five for the first time. Fifty Shades Darker, by contrast, is detumescing rapidly, but now ranks as the fourth biggest 18-rated movie in UK box office history.
