It’s being suggested by sections of the media that the public have forgiven Will Smith for his Oscars ceremony shame, although amusement seems to have been the main response to his Slap Outrage. Either way, the fourth buddy-cop Bad Boys flick, Ride Or Die, romped to the top of the chart at the weekend. That said, it enjoyed the second-lowest opening of the franchise, so we perhaps shouldn’t get too excited by those ‘Saviour of Cinema’ headlines. In second place, two-time chart topper IF has now reached £10m after four weeks on release. Everything else just slipped down a place, with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga continuing to under-perform, until the second new entry at number six: supernatural horror The Watched, from Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of M. Night Shyamalan. In eighth place, the third and final new entry was Viggo Mortensen’s western The Dead Don’t Hurt.
