Preview: Impermanence Presents, Bristol Old Vic

By Julie Cresswell Buck  Saturday Jan 12, 2019

Impermanence, by name and nature, is a Bristol-based dance troupe that focus on the “transient, evanescent (and) inconstant”.

From January 15 to 19, they are curating an impressive five-night showcase of dance collaborations at Bristol Old Vic’s new Weston Theatre called Impermanence Presents, the likes of which Bristol may have never seen before.

It will be the first in a series of regular monthly showcases, which will return to the Old Vic for nights in February, March and April.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Impermanence was founded in 2011 and since then has been constantly producing new work and functioning as an ongoing experiment into collaborative creation.

Wanting to engage with audiences as much as possible, Impermanence have presented work at theatres, warehouses, festivals, cabarets, site-specific projects and community events.

Co-directed by Roseanna Anderson and Josh Ben-Tovim, they like to explore the notions of equality and democracy while making exciting dance theatre.

The first five nights of Impermanence Presents at the Old Vic will include performances from Lailo Diallo, Bandi Meszerics, Tom Thom, Jane Mason, David Williams, Pink Suits, Corali, Tom Marshman, Jean Abreu and Impermanence themselves.
