By Robin Connolly  Wednesday Jul 28, 2021

The UK’s biggest festival of contemporary circus, Circus City, will be returning to Bristol this autumn.

The programme for the biennial event will combine circus skills with music, film, theatre and dance.

Ticketed and free events are due to take place across the city, in indoor, outdoor and online venues.

The lineup is currently under wraps and is due to be announced in mid-August.

Festival director, Kate Hartoch said: “We are really excited about bouncing back into giving audiences of all ages a chance to enjoy some of the exciting shows that circus artists have been sustaining and creating over lockdown.

“Planning a festival like ours while the pandemic continues isn’t easy but we are determined to share our programme of local, national and international performance.

“There’s a strong sense that people want to get back to experiencing live shows.

“We love this experience, too, so we are working hard to ensure Circus City #4 is as safe, welcoming, enticing and enjoyable as possible.”
