Upcoming guest authors at Max Minerva’s include Libby Page, Hanna Thomas Uose and Siân Hughes
Henleaze indie bookshop Max Minerva’s have a strong record when it comes to literary events – hosting Succession writer Jesse Armstrong, children’s picture book legend Jon Klassen, music from the inimitable The Bookshop Band, journalist turned novelist Dolly Alderton and acclaimed Swedish author Andrev Walden in recent times.
So far in 2026, they have already welcomed debut novelists Nussaibah Younis and Madeline Cash to the shop, to talk about their respective titles, fundamentally and Lost Lambs.
The shop also plays host to monthly book clubs in contemporary and translated fiction, for which attendance is free, though advanced registration is recommended.
The titles up for discussion are announced a few months in advance, in order to give readers time to digest the books ahead of their chosen event, should they choose to do so.

In the spring, several guest authors will be visiting Max Minerva’s to introduce audiences to their newest books.
On March 11, Sunday Times bestselling author Libby Page will be in conversation with Becky Hunter (Over and Over) to talk about This Book Made Me Think of You – the story of Tilly, a bereaved woman on a journey of healing through books.

Hanna Thomas Uose presents her debut novel, Who Wants to Live Forever, on March 31. Described as ‘speculative fiction’, the narrative blends science fiction and romance in its exploration of the impact of a drug that induces eternal life.
And the following month, on April 23, Booker Prize longlisted author Siân Hughes will be discussing No Such Thing as Monday, her critically lauded follow-up to 2023’s Pearl.

Working in a dry cleaners in the Midlands, wrought with the guilt and shame of past actions, the character of Steffie finds herself on an unxpected journey towards redemption.
“Although she does not see herself as loveable”, says Hughes, “I do, and I hope that readers will respond as kindly to her as they did to the narrator of Pearl.”
